Masculine Soul 2011 Registration
Men of Apex, mark your calendars for April 15-16 (Friday 7-9pm and Saturday 9am-2:45pm). We will be hosting a two day men’s gathering here at Apex to explore what it means to reflect God’s glory as men. Bring your sons (15 and older) and tell your house church, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Watch for more information on The City, in the lobby and in the Apex program and announcements in the coming weeks. Lunch will be provided (donations accepted).
The weekend will include four main teaching sessions (in addition to Q&A) over such concepts as:
- Man as prophet
- Man as priest
- Man as king
RSVP’ing on the City is a good start… but to fully register, we would like for you to click the following link and fill out the registration form:

Fall Focus 2010: Our Network Administrative Team
They are more than “behind the scenes” players, our Network Administrative Team are worship leaders attempting to do their best to love the Lord and His church with their gifts. Meet the team, including elders, staffers, volunteers, and at least one Jerry Garcia look-alike.

Fall Focus 2010: Biblical Counseling and Discipleship
Apex staffer Phil Depp continues Fall Focus by highlighting the ministry of Biblical counseling and discipleship. He outlines the ministry, how it is meant to come alongside our house church network, and invites counselors and counselees to give testimony of this ministry in their lives.

Fall Focus 2010: The 3500 Worship Leaders of Apex
In this two-part video from the October 2nd/3rd gatherings, Apex staffer Phil Wing continues Fall Focus by highlighting the ministry that happens during our regular weekend gatherings. He interviews various volunteers serving in dozens of areas of ministry and challenges us to remember that “worship” and “sacrifice” go hand-in-hand. When we gather together, do you have an attitude of giving back to the Lord… or receiving?

Fall Focus 2010: Connecting You To Apex
In this video from the September 25th/26th gatherings, Apex staffer Drew Clemens continues Fall Focus by highlighting the ministry of connecting people to the community. He introduces several members of the connecting team, emphasizes Apex Orientation, and reviews our new online tool, “The City.”
Apex Fall Focus Kickoff Videos: Discipleship Bonus Material!
The weekend of September 18th/19th, we kicked off Fall Focus 2010. Fall Focus is a time of reflecting on what God has done within Apex and what He is doing… including both challenges and victories.
Apex elder Chris Cardiff put on his Tressel vest to give a humorous introduction to our very serious mission: being and making disciples of Christ. The first video below is that video shown in the 18th/19th Apex weekend gatherings. The following three videos include extremely valuable additional teaching from our elders about what it means to be a fully devoted disciple of Jesus… knowing, loving, and obeying Him through the power of the Holy Spirit.
For more expanded teaching on knowing, loving, and obeying Jesus, check out this resource in our online library.
ADDITIONAL DISCIPLESHIP TEACHING:
Knowing Jesus

Loving Jesus

Obeying Jesus

The Apex City is Rockin’
If you’ve been in the Apex gatherings over the past month or two, you’ve heard about The City, an exciting new online tool and community network for Apex. We have been slowly rolling out The City over the course of May and June, and we have a great start. There are around 350 Apexers now online and 30 of our house churches represented.
To create your account on The City, at this time, you need to be invited via email by your house church. That is why we have been encouraging HC shepherds, co-shepherds, ministry team leaders, and anyone serving in another role within Apex to attend a City Training. At the very least, we would like one person from each HC to be trained on The City… even if you don’t consider yourself a “leader.” If you get excited about this sort of thing, and you’re willing to teach the others in your group, please come!
Important Note
The City will be replacing our current “regional hubs.” If your house church uses the hubs or the house church email addresses associated with the hubs, they will be DEACTIVATED on August 1st. So please, make sure you attend a training and get your HC transitioned to The City by August 1st!

Apex White Papers
Our Elders posted their first “white paper” today in the online resource library. This paper is likely the first of several. Topics for other papers are currently being considered. In the coming months and years, those other papers will be published on the Apex website.
A brief explanation of White Papers:
The overall purpose of these white papers is to present in a concise manner the position of the elders of Apex Community on a variety of theological and social issues. These positions will be the stance that will apply to those members of Apex Community that are in leadership positions. The issues that are addressed in white papers will be those that arise within our network of community churches. These are issues that our core doctrinal statement may not address explicitly but are still damaging to Christ’s work throughout the Miami Valley. These positions are not exhaustive treatments of each particular issue but only serve as expansive introductions which should guide discussion of these topics. The links that follow each white paper are there for personal study to dive into each issue at a much deeper level.
This first published white paper concerns the topic of Divorce and Remarriage. Our elders realize that this is an extremely personal and challenging subject. Please know, whenever these white papers (and suggested resources) do not suffice in answering concerns that you may have, you are always welcome to call the office to set up a time to meet with a member of the elder team.
Understanding Apex: What about Apex’s history and background?
Apex leadership often gets questions about our history. Is Apex a church plant? How did you get started? How long have you been around? This video is an attempt to provide a brief answer to those questions. Obviously, summarizing around 10 years of ministry into less than 10 minutes is no easy task… let alone providing background before those 10 years! But we believe this video will provide you a general understanding of what God has done in the life of Apex to date. Enjoy!
Questions from our Thursday Prayer Times (Passion Weekend)
- Think through the Gospel and ask the Lord for the humility to not only KNOW the Gospel but also to LOVE and be DEPENDENT upon it
- Is there anything or anyone that you are cherishing above the supremacy of Jesus? Take time to confess those to the Lord and ask Him to renew your heart towards Him.
- Do you bring fears or hurts to this place? Lift each one of those up to the Lord and ask Him to help you NOT live under the authority of those fears or pain.
- Is there an area of your life where the Lord is wanting you to trust Him at a deeper level?
- Is there an issue of disobedience that you need to confess to the Lord? Ask him to help you follow through with obedience?
- Are there areas of your life where you could be vulnerable to sin right now? Confess those to the Lord and ask Him for strength to not yield to temptation.
- Think through the past year and recall with thanks the obvious blessings Christ has bestowed on you
- Think of names of family, friends, neighbors, or co-workers who are unredeemed. Take time to lift up each name to the Lord and ask Him how He wants to you interact with each person mentioned.
- Take time to pray for people groups of the world that have never heard the good news of Jesus Christ.
- Share your needs with the Lord and ask Him to give you discernment on when and how He meets those needs.
